Greg has developed an ongoing support group for new and
expectant fathers. The response to this group has exceeded my expectations.
Participants in the group have consistantly rated Greg "excellent" in facilitating
the group and providing a comfortable supportive atmosphere. As the leader
they find him to have credibility and a great ability to help them identify and
clarify issues. (See attached report)

We are currently working with Greg developing policy and procedures to be
followed when a client who is a substance abuser enters our facility to give
birth. Greg will be taking part inservicing our nurses on the problem of
chemical dependency and appropriate assesment and intervention for the woman and
her family while they are in our care. I believe one of Greg's greatest assets to
our department is his strong value of family, empowering new parents with
knowledge of healthy parenting behaviors, and helping them to recognize repeated
generational patterns of "unhealthy parenting".

We are also collaborating on a one day seminar for health care providers on
"Cocaine Abuse in Childbearing Women" to be presented later this fall.

I have been impressed by Greg's professionalism, integrity, energy, and
willingness to participate in these hospital projects that benefit both patients
and health care professionals.

Sincerely,

Jeanne Schneider RN
Family Maternity Care Education

<< Click here to go back
