Some of the
topics covered included: facts on adolescent substance abuse;
prevention through. education, communication and support; common
roadblocks to early detection of substance abuse; pharmacology/
physiology of alcohol and other drugs.

Although I did not attend the parent session the feedback from
parents was very positive and parents were pleased with the information
presented.

Classes for the students extended over an eight-week period but
varied according to grade level Some of the topics presented were:
self-esteem; decision making and refusal skills; alcohol and. other
drugs; alcoholism and the family.

Greg came prepared for each class session with activities and
information appropriate for the age and maturity of the students.
He was sensitive to the needs of the children and allowed sufficient
time for questions and interaction between himself and the class,
The highlight of the program for the older students was the opportunity
to hear from a recovering teen speaker.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Greg McBride's program
to a population of school children, I feel certain that the students
of Our Lady of Fatima have received valuable information about the
dangers of alcohol and. drug abuse and are better prepared to say
"NO" if the situation arises.

Marie C.
